Looking for a life of meaning and purpose? Do you crave a greater voice in the decisions that affect your life? Being part of the Labor Movement can help give you both while also making our community stronger and more resilient during uncertain economic times.

Are you worried you won’t be able to support a family or buy a house? As union membership declines, wealth inequality increases. Unions can help you get the support you need to live your life instead of just trying to survive.

This is my dad! He's been involved with supporting Unions for decades and says "young people these days need to put down their phones and get out in the streets!"

He's a little crazy, but he has a point. We all know social media is not always healthy or empowering. My dad totally roasted me saying that "sharing some white hot meme with 10 of your like-minded friends is NOT activism!"

Although sharing memes is one of my favorite coping mechanisms he does have a point that it doesn’t do much. He says, "it's way more rewarding and satisfying to organize with others to achieve real change in the world rather than worrying over how many people "liked" your last post!"

If you’re reading this, I’m guessing you want more from life than just likes and a paycheck. You can help build community, give working people a voice and improve the quality of life for everyone by being involved in the Labor Movement.

Your location, occupation or personal situation may mean you can’t join a pre-existing Union.
Talk with your coworkers and friends about how much you get paid and what you need from your employer (ex. paid paternity leave, better healthcare, better overtime wages, etc). You and your coworkers can easily start your own union or inspire others to! You can also contact your local Labor Council for assistance. Never forget that your employer depends on you and your coworkers for EVERYTHING. One CEO is nothing compared to the entire workforce!
